Extra Blocks

In short. Extra Blocks is the SG-Builder category for everything beyond the foundational set: site chrome (Site Logo, Navigation), interactive patterns (FAQ accordion, Tabs, Slider), content composition (Card, Cards, Gallery, Testimonials, Contact Row), form and widget (Form, Widget), icon blocks (Icons, Icon, Icon Text Lists), and pricing (Pricing table). Extra Blocks cover everything that doesn't fit Basic, Posts, or Ecommerce — from site-wide chrome to specialty page patterns. Site Logo and Navigation appear on almost every page via templates; FAQ accordion, Tabs, and Slider handle interactive content; Cards, Gallery, and Testimonials handle structured content composition.

Block inventory

Site chrome

Site Logo — renders the site logo configured in Site Settings. Typically placed in header and footer templates.

Navigation — renders a site menu. Connects to the menu configured in the site's navigation settings. Used in header and footer templates.

Interactive patterns

FAQ accordion — collapsible Q&A list. Operators add Q&A pairs; visitors click to expand each.

Tabs — tabbed content panel. Operators add tabs; visitors switch between them.

Slider / carousel — horizontal slider for content (image galleries, feature highlights, testimonials in carousel format).

Content composition blocks

Card — a single content card (image, heading, text, optional CTA).

Cards — a collection of content cards in a responsive layout.

Gallery — image gallery display with configurable layout (grid, masonry).

Testimonials — testimonial display block. Operators add testimonial entries (quote, attribution, optional image).

Contact Row — a contact information row (address, phone, email fields in a structured layout).

Form and widget blocks

Form — connects to a form created in the admin Forms. The block renders the selected form on the page.

Widget — embeds a widget by source (e.g. a sidebar widget, a third-party integration widget).

Icon blocks

Icons — a collection of icons (typically used for feature lists or benefit rows).

Icon — a single icon block with optional label.

Icon Text Lists — a layout block pairing an icon with text for each list item (feature bullet alternative).

Pricing

Pricing table — pricing-tier layout block. Operators define tiers with name, price, feature lists, and CTA.

Examples

Example 1 — Operator builds a feature page with FAQ

Section → Hero → Cards (3 feature cards) → FAQ accordion → CTA section. Two Extra blocks (Cards + FAQ accordion); the rest is Basic.

Example 2 — Operator builds a pricing page

Section → Hero → Pricing table → Testimonials → FAQ accordion → CTA. Three Extra blocks.

Example 3 — Operator places site chrome in a header template

The header template uses Site Logo and Navigation from the Extra category. The logo renders from Site Settings; the navigation renders from the configured menu. Both appear on every page via the template.
