How to Add Users to a Site in SGEN

This procedure adds users to a site either from Site Manager through the dashboard invite flow or directly inside SG-Admin through the users area.

Before you start

You need:

Access to the correct site.
The user’s email address if you are inviting through SG-Dashboard.
The appropriate permission to manage users.
If the user should be added through the dashboard flow, start in Site Manager. If the user should be created directly inside the site admin, use SG-Admin.

Where to go

Use one of these routes.

Option 1
Invite from SG-Dashboard

Log in to SG-Dashboard, open Site Manager, find the correct site card, then click Add users.

Option 2
Add directly in SG-Admin

Open the site through Login to Stage or another valid admin entry, then go to Users → Add New.

Steps

Use the flow that matches how the user should be added.

Option 1
Invite from SG-Dashboard

Open Site Manager, click Add users on the correct site card, enter the user’s email address in the invite modal, then send the invite.

Option 2
Add directly in SG-Admin

Open the site admin, go to Users → Add New, enter the required user details, set the correct role or access level, then save the new user.

Use the dashboard invite flow when email-based access is the correct path. Use the direct SG-Admin path when the user needs to be created and managed inside the site admin itself.

What success looks like

A successful user-add flow results in one of these outcomes:

The invite is sent to the user by email from the dashboard flow.
The user record is created successfully inside SG-Admin from the direct-admin flow.

What to do if it does not work

Use the correct response for the state you are in.

You are in the wrong site

Return to Site Manager and confirm the correct site card before adding the user.

You need direct admin-level user control instead of an invite

Use SG-Admin → Users → Add New instead of the invite modal.

Next step

Once access is in place, move the user into the staging environment first unless live is already confirmed ready.
