How to Connect Google Integrations in SGEN

This procedure connects the site to existing Google properties through the Google Integrations area in SG-Dashboard.

Before you start

You need:

Access to the correct site’s settings.
The existing Google properties you plan to use.
Current scope matters here: SGEN does not create the Google property for you at this stage. The Google property must already exist. This applies to the Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and Google Search Console data you intend to use.

Where to go

Start from Site Manager and move into the correct site’s settings.

Dashboard Path
Open Google Integrations

Log in to SG-Dashboard, open Site Manager, click Manage Site Settings on the correct site card, then open Google Integrations.

Direct Path Example
Site settings URL

Steps

Connect the existing Google properties for the correct site in this order.

1
Open the correct site’s Google Integrations area

Start from the correct site card so the settings are applied to the intended site.

2
Review the available integration fields

Check the controls presented for the Google products you need to connect.

3
Connect the existing Google properties

Enter the required details for Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and Google Search Console.

4
Save and return to setup

Save the integration settings for the site, then return to the site settings or dashboard onboarding flow.

For Google Business Profile and location-related items, use the locations flow rather than treating it as the same setup screen.

What success looks like

The integration step is complete when the site’s Google settings are saved against the correct existing Google properties and the site can use those connections for reporting and related dashboard functions.

What to do if it does not work

Use the correct response for the state you are in.

You do not have an existing property

Create or obtain the correct Google property first, then return to SGEN and connect it.

You are trying to connect Google Business Profile here

Use the locations workflow for location-related Google connections instead.

Next step

Move to How to Add Locations in SGEN or How to Generate Your First Report in SGEN.
