Use this page as a directory of SGEN quick tasks, not a tutorial. The fastest way through it: use your browser's find (Ctrl+F or Cmd+F) to search for a word like form, domain, or blog, or skim the seven section headings below and jump to the one that fits. Every link opens the full step-by-step guide for that task — you do not need to read this page top to bottom.

Brand-new to SGEN? If you have never built a site before, start with Building your first website ever first, then come back here once you know your way around. Worried about early missteps? Skim Common mistakes to avoid.

A good rule of thumb: build and preview everything privately in your Sandbox, and only reach for the Domain and going live section when you are ready for visitors. Most tasks below work the same whether you are in the Sandbox or live — going live is its own deliberate step.

Build and design

The core of any site — its pages and how they look. Start with a page, then layer on a theme, brand kit, and navigation.

Content

Everything that changes over time — posts, images, and scheduling. Pages are for evergreen content; the blog is for dated, feed-based content.

SEO and analytics

How people find your site, and how you see who arrives. Set page titles and descriptions so search results read well, then connect analytics to measure traffic.

Forms and leads

How visitors reach you. Build the form, then wire notifications so every submission reaches your inbox — the step that is easiest to forget.

Domain and going live

The step that makes your work public. Connect a domain, promote your Sandbox to live, and add redirects so old links keep working after a move.

Selling online

Turn your site into a store. Set up products and build the pages that show and sell them.

Team and account

Who can work on your site, and how the account is managed. Invite people, set what each can do with roles, and keep your plan and backups in order.
