SGEN launches

April 20, 2026. Today SGEN is a product. Not a roadmap, not a pitch — a working platform that anyone can sign up to, build a real site on, and run a business through.

What's live today

  • The full platform. Site creation, the admin dashboard, the visual builder, the publishing pipeline, and the public site rendering layer — all of it shipped on the same day. Build a site, write content, hit publish, and a visitor on the other side of the world sees it within a minute.
  • The trial path. Sandbox lets you evaluate SGEN without a paid plan. Sign up, build a real working site, see what the platform does on real content. When ready, upgrade to a paid tier and the site you built carries forward — no rebuild, no export, no migration scripts.
  • The documentation site. Every admin feature, every public-side flow, every common workflow has a docs page. Same launch day. No "docs coming soon" gap between a feature shipping and someone being able to read how it works.
  • Pricing transparency. Every tier, every feature, every limit is published. No "contact sales for Enterprise" wall on basic information. You can decide whether SGEN fits before you start a conversation.

What makes today different

The reason this launch is one event rather than a six-month staggered rollout is that the underlying work was already done. Weeks of preparation went into making the customer experience feel finished from day one — clean staging-to-live separation, automatic site backups, fast public-site rendering, secure custom domains. By the time the public marketing said "launch", the platform had already been running real test sites for weeks.

That preparation window is what makes the trial work as a real evaluation. You're not poking at a beta — you're using the same product paying customers will use tomorrow.

The trial-to-paid flow

The Sandbox tier is where new users start. It is fully featured for the duration of the trial (time, scope, and domain limits administered by SGEN), and the same fourteen customer-facing features that ship in Sandbox also ship in every paid tier above it. The trial is a real product, not a stripped-down demo.

When you decide to keep your site running past the trial, the path is one click: switch from Sandbox to whichever paid tier matches your needs. The site, the data, the design, the connected integrations — none of it moves. Only the billing and the SLA tier shifts. Most accounts complete the switch in under five minutes.

What's not in this launch

A few things are deliberately not in today's release and will land over the next quarter:

  • AI Content Assistant. Currently in NOW Horizon on the roadmap. Expected next release.
  • Product Catalog. Currently in NOW. For ecommerce sites that need richer product schema than the launch-tier flat catalog supports.
  • Zapier integration. Currently in NOW. Today's Webhook destinations cover most automation needs, but a Zapier-native connector is in flight.
  • WordPress migration tooling. Currently in NEXT. Manual import works today; a wizard is coming.

The Roadmap section on the docs site shows the full pipeline.

What today unlocks

A few capabilities customers will notice on day one:

  • Sign-up to working site in under two minutes for most plans
  • Clean separation between staging and live so the risky-change workflow is safe
  • Automatic backups plus manual snapshots before any risky action
  • Fast public-site rendering with optimized delivery on first visit

These behaviors are baked into every account, every tier, every day. No paid upgrade, no separate add-on.

Next steps

  • If you're evaluating SGEN, start with the Sandbox tier — sign up, build a real page, see how the admin and builder feel.
  • If you're moving from another platform, the Guides section walks through site-build patterns. Start with "Build First Site" or pick a Comparison page that matches your current stack.
  • If you're a returning visitor, the rest of the Highlights set covers each major milestone that shipped — SGEN Docs going live, the Sandbox tier opening, and more.

Welcome to SGEN.
