How to Complete Site Setup in SGEN

This procedure covers the first controlled pass after a site has been created. It starts from Site Manager and moves through the actions that matter immediately: domain, staging access, site settings, and user access.

Before you start

You should already have:

Created the site successfully.
Been redirected back to Site Manager.
Confirmed that the new site card is visible.
Important: SGEN creates staging and live automatically, but live readiness still depends on DNS propagation and certificate provisioning.

Where to go

Start from Site Manager:

Step 1
Log in to SG-Dashboard

Use your normal SG-Dashboard access.

Step 2
Open Site Manager

Go to the area where your site cards are listed and managed.

Step 3
Find the new site card

Locate the site card for the domain you just created. This card is the control surface for the first setup pass.

Steps

Use the site card to move through the first setup actions in order.

1
Review the available actions

Start from the site card and confirm which actions are available for the new site.

2
Complete the domain step if needed

If the domain has not been pointed yet, click Point your domain and complete the DNS step first.

3
Use staging for immediate work

Use View Staging Site to inspect the staging build, or Login to Stage to enter the staging site already logged into SG-Admin.

4
Continue into settings and access

Open Manage Site Settings, review the setup areas, and use Add users if more team access is required.

Site Settings
Review the core setup areas

In site settings, review the available setup areas such as Google Integrations, Reporting Settings, and Locations.

Next Working Order
Return to Dashboard when ready

Use the Dashboard Getting Started sequence as the next task order: Connect Google integrations, Add your locations, and Generate your first report.

Use Visit Live Site or Login to Live only when the live environment is expected to be ready.

What each site-card action means

Use the site-card actions as follows:

Point your domain

Use this when DNS still needs to be updated.

Visit Live Site

Opens the live site in a new tab if the domain has propagated.

Login to Live

Opens the live site in a new tab when live is available.

View Staging Site

Opens the staging build in a new tab.

Login to Stage

Opens the staging build already logged into SG-Admin.

Manage Site Settings

Opens site-specific settings inside SG-Dashboard.

Add users

Opens the invite flow so additional users can be added by email.

What success looks like

Site setup is moving correctly when:

The domain step is completed or underway.
Staging is accessible.
The core site settings are reachable.
Users can be invited if needed.
The next onboarding tasks are visible and understood.

What to do if it does not work

Use the correct response for the state you are in.

You cannot use live yet

Live may still be waiting on DNS propagation or certificate provisioning. Continue setup in staging.

The site card is present but some dashboard access is restricted

Check billing state. If billing is unsettled or cancelled, resolve billing first.

The domain is not pointed yet

Complete the A-record step before expecting live to behave normally.

Next step

If the domain is still pending, move to How to Point Your Domain in SGEN. If you need to work immediately, move to How to Access Staging and Live in SGEN.
